Live-English.net is a nice little site. It doesn’t look very professional, but it’s actually more user friendly than some of the larger sites. And the polls add a very friendly touch to their interface.

The home page is busy, but we realized that it didn’t really deter us from locating what we needed to find. They really do offer good options for their students, except when it comes to social media.

We also liked the fact that students can book lessons up to an entire month in advance. This makes it easy for students to find time to study. They can also study with the instructor of their choice and they can choose between Australian, British, and American English.

Social Media:

Other than the fact that Live-English.net is on Twitter and Facebook, there is no beneficial social media to speak of. We really wish that they’d offer a forum at least. Live-English.net offers its lessons via Skype or via telephone.

Quality of Instruction:

All of the Live-English.net teachers have degrees and professional experience. This is probably why they’re able to offer so much Business English. In addition, this website claims they will tailor-make the course you really want. They even state they’ll help students prepare for any type of oral English exam they may have to take.

Variety of Offerings:

We were really impressed with the focus Live-English.net has on Business English. They teach students how to act on interviews and they’ll let the students rehearse before the actual interview. And they give them tons of help with their resumes.

Live-English.net is really in the business to prepare their students for what they need. They state they’ll prepare their students for the TOEFL, TOEIC, and Cambridge exams. In addition, they will also prepare them for the Cambridge International Certificate in Financial English (ICFE).

Instructional Options:

Students may not have options to communicate with their peers through Live-English.net, but they can learn English culture. Several of their lessons revolve around studying American situation comedies. These types of lessons would be perfect inroads to establishing social media so that students can communicate with each other. This would mean more learning for the students.

Summary:

Live-English.net offers a very good product and if someone is looking for help with their resume or needs to study Business English Live-English.net is a good place to go. Unfortunately they are lacking in the very important arena of social media and interactive learning. This would probably mean upgrading the technical capabilities of their website, but they’ve already got such a good start.
